Local Irish Dancer Wins Top Spot at the Recent North American Championships in Nashville, Tennessee

Local dancer Aislinn Bell from Bolingbrook, IL from the McNulty School of Irish Dance in Naperville competed at the prestigious North American Irish Dance Championships earlier this month. The event held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort July 4th – 8th attracted thousands of competitors hoping to make it to the podium.
Aislinn performed a traditional set dance which is one of the seven oldest dances taught in Irish Dance-some of which date back to the 1600’s. Dancing in the Under 12 age category with dancers from around the United States and Canada, she performed a dance called the Job of Journeywork. Her performance was outstanding and received 275 points out of a possible 300, giving her the highest score in her age/category and taking her to the top spot on the podium.
Aislinn has been dancing with the McNulty school since she was five years old. This fall, Aislinn will be entering 7th grade in Plainfield District 202.
