Bolingbrook Man Faces Child Abduction Charge

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Bolingbrook Police say that a 3-year-old child was not injured after his father took the child without permission from the mother's home on Sunday afternoon. The father, Alfonso Hernandez, later returned to the mother's house, beating her and pulling her down a flight of stairs, according to police reports.

Now, the 26-year-old Hernandez is lodged in the Will County Jail. His bail was set at $100,000. He faces charges of aggravated battery, child abduction, criminal trespass to a residence and theft.

According to Bolingbrook Police reports, the incident unfolded around 12:10 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, in the 200 block of Aspen. It came in as a domestic violence call. The suspect, Hernandez, resides in Bolingbrook in the 200 block of Falconridge Drive, police said.

"Hernandez entered the home uninvited, and took his 3-year-old child from the residence without permission. Hernandez returned to the home shortly after to retrieve a coat and shoes for the child," reports show.

Then, "Hernandez began yelling at the victim and a struggle ensued. Hernandez pulled the victim down the front stairs causing non-life threatening injuries. Hernandez grabbed the cell phone from the victim and left the residence," the police said.

The injured woman was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. The 3-year-old boy was found to be with Hernandez at his home in Bolingbrook, police said.

"Officers were able to facilitate the release of the child. The child was unharmed during the incident," reports show.

On Monday, Hernandez was taken into custody in front of his house as Bolingbrook Police officers came armed with an arrest warrant.

He remains in Will County's Jail for now.
