Bolingbrook Mayor Plans to Attend Trump Inauguration

Mayor Roger Claar also said he suggested Mike Pence for vice president.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Back in September, Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar invited Donald Trump to town for a fundraiser. Now, Claar’s traveling to Trump.

Claar told the Daily Herald that he’s planning to attend Trump’s inauguration in January. Trump and Claar have had two one-on-one conversations. One reportedly detailed Trump asking for suggestions on a vice president pick.

"I don't think he picked him because I suggested it, but I said (Indiana governor) Mike Pence would be outstanding," Claar said in the article.

Claar told the paper he gave his support to Trump because he was “tired of Republican leadership in Washington” and that Democrats also weren’t getting anything done.
