Bolingbrook Officer Awarded Illinois State Police's Medal Of Honor
Bolingbrook Police Officer Sal Davi was in Springfield Wednesday to receive the Law Enforcement Medal of Honor.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — On Wednesday, Gov. JB Pritzker and Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly recognized police officers from throughout the state for their acts of heroism.
The Law Enforcement Medal of Honor Ceremony honors officers who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty or have displayed exceptional bravery or heroism as a law enforcement officer, according to a release from Bolingbrook Police Department.
Bolingbrook Police Officer Sal Davi was in Springfield Wednesday to receive the Law Enforcement Medal of Honor from Pritzker, the department said. Davi is a 22-year veteran of the Bolingbrook Police Department, currently serving as a Field Training Officer, Master Patrolman, and REACT Assistant Team Leader.

During the summer of 2022, Davi responded to a critical incident involving an armed violent attack, according to the department. Davi was the first officer to arrive at the scene and immediately ran towards the danger. Davi ended the threat to the victim and immediately transitioned to directing emergency medical assistance, saving the victim’s life.
"Officer Davi’s intrepid actions despite the risk to his own life rose above and beyond the call of duty," the department said. "His extraordinary personal bravery clearly distinguishes him from his law enforcement peers. It is, for these reasons, Officer Sal Davi has been awarded the Illinois State Police Law Enforcement Medal of Honor for 2022."
