BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – Bolingbrook Park District was created when a referendum was passed on August 11, 1970. The only facility was a white farm house. 50 years and over 1,000 acres of open space, and five facilities later, and 50 properties later Bolingbrook Park District is proud to celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout 2020.

“It has been enjoyable to look back on the last 50 years and see how the community has grown with us,” said Ron Oestreich, executive director. “There have been a lot of smiling faces and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone throughout the year.”

Patrons will notice a new logo that has been developed for the year. It can be found on the doors of each facility. Visual timelines have also been hung at the Annerino Community Center (201 Recreation Dr.) and the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex (200 Lindsey Ln.) to commemorate the past.
