Bolingbrook Park District to Continue Referendum Projects
BRAC construction to tentatively begin the first week of April

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – Bolingbrook Park District is in the second year of the five-year referendum project plan. Residents of Bolingbrook will see the largest projects completed this year. Tentatively starting the first week of April, work will begin on the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex Renovation Project. This project includes exciting new things that include:
- Five new family changing rooms
- New program space
- Renovated fitness and aquatic locker rooms
- Renovated entrance to the facility
“We have been assured that crews can work efficiently while maintaining proper social distancing,” said Ron Oestriech, executive director. “We’re excited to bring these projects to our residents and look forward to seeing everyone having fun while they utilize them.”
Other referendum projects include the center of the Lazy River Island at Pelican Harbor Outdoor Aquatic Park, which is getting a new look and adding more deck space for customers. The new island will feature a shelter and four shaded areas with tables and benches for additional seating within the park. A bridge will connect the island to the rest of the park. This feature will be ready for use this summer. A significant amount of progress has been made on the pathway connection project. This project involves numerous parties and takes quite a bit of coordination to complete.
