Bolingbrook Park District Executive Director Leaving After 27 Years
Executive Director Ron Oestreich has accepted a position as parks and recreation director in Farragut, Tennessee.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook Park District Executive Director Ron Oestreich has submitted his resignation after 27 years at the park district.
Oestreich has accepted a position as parks and recreation director in Farragut, Tennessee, according to a news release from the park district.
“This opportunity allows my family to relocate to the Knoxville area, joining our oldest son and other extended family,” Oestreich said.

Oestreich started as the first full-time aquatic supervisor for Pelican Harbor in 1996, and then served as Superintendent of Revenue Facilities from 2000 to 2012, and finally as Executive Director since May 2012, according to the park district.
Oestreich has also been involved with Rotary Club, H2O, Kiwanis, Character Counts Coalition, Plainfield East High School Band Boosters, and of course the Foundation for Bolingbrook Parks.

“I am proud to have achieved so much with such wonderful and respectable commissioners, teammates, staff, and friends. I will always consider myself part of the Bolingbrook Park District family,” Oestreich said in a release.
Oestreich's last day will be Feb. 3.
"Ron’s contributions to Bolingbrook Park District were numerous and he will be missed by his co-workers, fellow organization members, and friends throughout Bolingbrook and throughout Illinois," said Sue Vastalo, Bolingbrook Park District Board President. “We have some big shoes to fill.”
The Board of Commissioners has posted the vacant position on the Bolingbrook Park District website and will be accepting applications through Feb. 13.
