Bolingbrook Sixth Grader Wins Spelling Bee

Sixth grader Danielle Vidad is the 2016 Jane Addams Middle School spelling champion after correctly spelling “nurture” in the 9th round at Wednesday’s school spelling bee.

Vidad, 7th grader Alex Doyle and 8th grader Akilah Essex will all advance to the Feb. 2 Valley View School District 365U Spelling Bee at Humphrey Middle School.
The winner correctly spelled sock, glass, habits, jersey, splendid, rattler, beverage and tarnish to post the victory. Doyle was correct on bark, down, attic, dozen, eyebrow, difficult and thigh before missing cyberspace. Essex was perfect on dress, erase, exam, glimmer, dearly, fringe, atrium and autumn before going out on vicinity.

Alternates for the district bee are 6th grader Kamalika Nandayla, 7th grader Bryce Pampuch and 8th grader Robert Mims.
