Bolingbrook Speech Team Turns in Strong Performance at Regionals
Team's fourth-place finish earns them a spot at sectionals.

Seven individuals and the Performance in the Round cast and crew will represent Bolingbrook High School at Saturday’s IHSA Speech sectional at Oak Lawn Community High School following strong regional performances last weekend.
Individual qualifiers include Samantha Cole 3rd in Poetry Reading, Dania Harris 4th in Prose Reading and regional champion (1st place) in Original Oratory, Jazmyne Tyler 4th in Radio Speaking, Devon Richardson 4th in Humorous Interpretation, Marisa Vargas 2nd in Oratorical Declamation, Kayla Lottie 4th in Special Occasion Speaking, and Bailey Jarvis-Taylor 2nd in Informative Speaking. Cole and Lottie also advanced by finishing 3rd in Humorous Duet Acting. Sean Miller and Jesse Zamora also competed on Saturday.

The Performance in the Round Cast finished 4th and will advance to Sectionals with their performance “Some of my Best Friends are Smiths’ directed by Charles Palia. Cast members included Jen Lucchesi, Gaby Gallegos, Deanna Torres, Brendan Furlong, Madison Mack, and Nicole Walker and ensemble members Hector Sanchez, Justice Darrington, Aayush Gupta, John Francisco, Brendan Furlong, Eric Page, Tony Olea, Djimon Lewis, Zachary Coleman, Onessa Mirza, and Ebony Gomez.
The team finished 4th in the region and will also compete at sectionals.
