Bolingbrook Students Earn Berths in Valley View STEM Science Fair

They'll advance to the VVSD event on March 26.

After being selected as one of the top four finishers in their respective grade levels at the Jane Addams Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Science Fair Wednesday night, 12 students from the Bolingbrook middle school will advance to the Valley View School District 365U STEM Science Fair on March 26.

The winners were:

  • 6th grade--1st Blessing Agyare, 2nd Thomas Martin, 3rd Anthony Heard and 4th Safa Muhammad
  • 7th grade--1st Jumobi Arowolo, 2nd Julie Staggs, 3rd Xavier Nevarez and 4thLexi Ingram
  • 8th grade--1st Jesika Stephens, 2nd Katherine Carranza, 3rd Connor Elliott and 4th Asia Bair

Judges included Jeff England, David Burke, Michael Izzo, James Wright, Courtney Muenzing, Deborah Sykora, Steve Quigley, Dan Falese and Carmen Killingsworth.

The remaining four VVSD middle schools will hold their own competitions over the next month in preparation for the District STEM Science Fair which will begin at 6 p.m. on March 26 at Romeoville High School. The event will include a demonstration from the famous “Mr. Freeze.” In addition, local companies will be on hand to share information on STEM careers.
