Bolingbrook Teen Charged In Triple Slaying Pleads Not Guilty
The 17-year-old, accusing of killing 3 during a home invasion, will next appear in court on March 30.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook 17-year-old Byrion Montgomery, who is facing nine counts of first-degree murder in connection with the slayings of three people during a home invasion, appeared in court Tuesday and entered a plea of not guilty, according to the Will County State's Attorney's Office.
Montgomery is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, home invasion, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, in connection with a home invasion which happened on Sunday in Bolingbrook.
Three people were shot and killed during the home invasion: 40-year-old Cartez Daniels, 17-year-old Samiya Shelton-Tillman, and a second juvenile girl, Sanai Daniels.

Three counts of first-degree murder pertain to Cartez Daniels, who was shot and stabbed, according to the criminal complaint from the Will County State's Attorney's Office.
Three counts of first-degree murder each also pertain to Samiya Shelton-Tillman and Sanai Daniels.

A 34-year-old woman was also shot and wounded, prosecutors said.
Montgomery's bail has been set at $20 million. He was appointed a public defender at Tuesday's court appearance, according to Will County State's Attorney's Office.
Montgomery will next appear in court on March 30.
