Bolingbrook Trash Pickup Delayed, Village Closed 4th Of July
A reminder as we head into the July 4 holiday.
WILL COUNTY, IL — It's nearly the 4th of July — time to watch some fireworks, cook out and possibly take a day off work. And the folks at your local government and trash pickup services will also be taking a day off.
For Waste Management customers — including those in Bolingbrook, Plainfield and Romeoville — trash pickup will be delayed one day staring Thursday, July 4.

Since Independence Day is a federal holiday, here are the general rules for what's open and what's closed:
- Federal offices: closed
- Post offices: closed
- Villages: closed
- State offices: closed
- Will County offices: closed
- Libraries: While libraries are open on some federal holidays, the Plainfield, White Oak (all branches) and Fountaindale libraries will be closed on July 4
- Will County courthouse: closed
- Banks: many are closed; check your local bank schedule
- Metra and CTA: A Sunday/holiday schedule will be in effect on all lines
- Malls, restaurants: open
