Brooks Eighth Grade Boys Basketball Wins State Championship

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Brooks Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team won the 2022 IESA Class 8-4A championship on Feb. 16 at Taylorville High School, the district said in a release.

The eighth grade team defeated Summit Hill Junior High School 48-40 to capture the championship, the district said.

Brooks trailed by two points at the half, and then outscored Summit Hill by ten points in the third quarter before winning by eight, according to the district. The Bulldogs finished the season with an 18-1 record.

The seventh grade boys team also won the state championship this year.
