The 19th Annual Cavalcade of Planes Brings the Excitement of Aviation to Bolingbrook June 1 & 2 with Flights, Food and Fun!

The Village of Bolingbrook and the Illinois Aviation Museum announce the 19th Annual Cavalcade of Planes at Bolingbrook’s Clow International Airport from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2. The event is a very popular event for the community and surrounding area, allowing attendees to get immersed in the exciting aviation experiences. It features a wide variety of airplanes, both in the air and on the ground, along with parachutists, and a number of other activities. Several times during the event, a number of planes will be flying in and out and over the airport, vintage military “warbirds” aircraft, flying in formation.
One of the major highlights is the ability to purchase rides on aircraft such as a Ford Tri-Motor, a B-25 Bomber, a T-6 Warbird, helicopters, and smaller planes from JW Aviation – a flight school on the airport grounds. New planes as well as vintage aircraft will be on display for up close viewing.

In past years, over 30,000 people have attended this event, including visitors from Normandy, France who were in Chicago visiting. Having heard about the event, they came out, coincidently on the weekend anniversary of D-Day, the Invasion of Normandy.
Approximately 200 volunteers, including the Civil Air Patrol and Illinois Aviation Museum members, work the various tasks for the weekend. Community organizations are invited to share information about their organizations and to raise funds from attendees. Bolingbrook High School Madrigal Singers will open the event with the National Anthem both days.
