Educators Urged to Make an Impact on Students

Teaching is the profession that makes all other professions possible.

That’s what Valley View School District 365U Board of Education Vice President Chrystal Hansen told more than 100 new VVSD educators Tuesday as she welcomed them to the district and challenged them to “be a star” for students.

“You have the ability to mold young minds as you prepare your students for their challenges and opportunities,” Hansen said. “Every day you will have a chance to perform miracles of learning, joy and laughter.”

Speaking on the first morning of a three-day orientation session in preparation for the start of classes Aug. 19 Hansen detailed the VVSD belief that “every student can succeed and become a great contributor to society” wherever their lives take them.

“Every child is a blessing. And every child needs a place to discover their gifts and talents and unique ability to achieve within their lives,” she said. “We believe VVSD is the place for them to discover that.

“There are students you will meet next week who will need you to inspire them. They need you to be a star for them,” Hansen added. “You have an opportunity to create a moment for them that will impact them for a life time.

“We’re very proud of what we have accomplished in Valley View and we’re excited that you will be a part of us as you help take us to the next level. We look forward to an awesome year.”
