First Party For Bolingbrook Announces Trustee Candidates

The slate includes incumbent trustees Michael Carpanzano and Jean Kelly and newcomer Jose Quintero.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Local residents are already announcing their candidacy for the April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election. In Bolingbrook, there are three trustee positions up for election.

The First Party For Bolingbrook has announced its slate for the trustee race, which includes incumbent trustees Michael Carpanzano and Jean Kelly and newcomer Jose Quintero.

According to a release from the slate, Carpanzano is seeking his second term as trustee after he was elected in 2019. Kelly is seeking her own four-year term after she was appointed in 2022 to fill a vacancy.

Carpanzano is active around the Village; also serving on the Village's Finance and Public Safety committees, and has previously served as Executive Director of the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and on boards for Crime Stoppers, Heart Haven Outreach, Midwest Christian Montessori Academy. According to the slate, Carpanzano has a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Francis, and is a hospital relationship manager for a national physical therapy practice.

"My continued promise to residents is to keep local government accessible, responsive and closest to the people," Carpanzano said in a release.

Kelly, who was appointed as Trustee earlier this year, and has previously served as DuPage Township Assessor for six years, with a total of 10 years at the Assessor's office, according to the slate. She moved to Bolingbrook in 1991.

“I am committed to continuing to serve the village,” Kelly said in a release, “Along with my slate-mates Michael and Jose and the entire First Party Team.”

Quintero may be a newcomer trustee candidate, but he currently serves as a commission on the Village's Zoning Board of Appeals. According to the slate, he has been a resident of Bolingbrook for nine years, after he and his wife were seeking a diverse community in which to raise their two sons.

Professionally, he has grown into his role as Vice President of Operations and Business Development for Windson Hospitality Group, according to the slate. Quintero also serves on the boards of the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and Crime Stoppers, is President-elect of the local Rotary Club, and is a member of the Bolingbrook Lions Club.

“I want to protect the investment made in infrastructure,” Quintero said about his decision to seek office, “And with my business background, I am confident that we can ensure Bolingbrook remains an attractive option for both investors and potential residents.”

The Consolidated Election is April 4, 2023, and includes the Village Trustee race, as well as other local races for school boards, park districts and library boards.
