'Grim Reaper' Pays a Visit to Valley View School District to Promote Fundraiser

The Grim Reaper made a special visit to the Oct. 14 Valley View School District 365U School Board meeting to “encourage” attendance at the upcoming Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation Sauces & Spirits event on Saturday. Oct. 25 at McQ’s Sports Dome on Route 53 in Bolingbrook. 

The event is a fundraiser for the VVEEF which has been funding programs for Valley View schools for over 20 years.

The Reaper encouraged many who had not yet registered for the event to come out and support the Foundation so that “he would not have to visit them in person”.

The event is an adult-themed Halloween party where attendees can enjoy a variety of food items accompanied by barbeque sauces created by the McQ’s Chef and also can enjoy tastings of a variety of Spirits. Ticket prices are $65 for the Tasting activities, $30 for designated driver’s (food tastings and soft drinks,) and $20 for event only where attendees can purchase their own food and beverages.

The Dome will be transformed into a Halloween extravaganza complete with live music by Eustachia. During the evening, which will include several fun activities, attendees will be able to vote on seasonal themed drawings from students from several Valley View schools. Winning students will be awarded gift cards.

Costumes are encouraged but not required, however, several categories of costumes will be judged for amazing prizes. Illusions Costumes in Bolingbrook is offering a 10 percent discount for those who are having trouble determining what to wear.
