Hidden Lakes Trout Farm Reopens On Saturday

The preserve will begin its fishing season on Saturday, and trout will be stocked in the Bolingbrook preserve's ponds.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Hidden Lakes Trout Farm in Bolingbrook will reopen on Saturday, and the fishing season will begin in the preserve, according to a news release from the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

The gate for vehicle traffic to access Hidden Lakes Trout Farm has been closed since Nov. 1. The preserve said Hidden Lakes features ponds for fishing and trails for hiking and biking.

Trout will also be stocked in the ponds for trout season fishing on Saturday, according to the preserve. To participate, anglers must have a fishing license and an Inland Trout Stamp unless they are under the age of 16, blind or disabled, or are an Illinois resident on leave from active duty in the Armed Forces. Five trout is the daily harvest limit.

Also, three fishing derbies will be held at the site in 2023. Registration is open now for the May 6 Adult Fishing Derby.

A new bait shop at Hidden Lakes is anticipated to open this spring, the preserve said.
