Intruder Who Filmed Sleeping Victims In Bolingbrook Gets 13 years
"This sick individual videotaped people sleeping in their own homes," State's Attorney Jim Glasgow said of Zacharie Brown.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A 29-year-old Bolingbrook man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after breaking into multiple homes and recording residents while they slept, according to a release from the Will County State's Attorney's Office.
Zacharie Brown, 29, was sentenced Wednesday by Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak. Brown pleaded guilty in multiple cases related to incidents in 2021.
According to the State's Attorney's Office, over the course of several months, Brown, on numerous occasions, entered occupied homes through unlocked doors and windows and videotaped the victims as they slept.

None of the victims had given Brown permission to enter their homes. In some instances, the clothing of the victim or bedding was removed to expose the victim’s body for the purposes of recording, the State's Attorney's Office said.
Brown was first charged in February 2022, after police were called to a home after someone attempted to enter via a window. Police said investigators were able to determine a suspect, identified as Brown, due to a similar incident in December.

The victim provided a description of Brown’s vehicle and a partial plate number to police, the State's Attorney's Office said. Police found Brown with the use of a tracker obtained for the vehicle.
“This sick individual videotaped people sleeping in their own homes,” State's Attorney Jim Glasgow said in a release. “Brown violated their privacy and took away their sense of security and safety. At least the victims will sleep a bit more soundly knowing that Brown is locked away and won’t be able to sneak into their homes from behind prison bars.”
Brown pleaded guilty to criminal trespass to residence, four counts of residential burglary, unauthorized video recording and attempted criminal sexual abuse.
The sentences in the cases will be served concurrently. Brown will receive 433 days credit, according to the news release.
