K9s For Veterans Opening Outlet Store In The Promenade Bolingbrook

BOLINGBROOK, IL — K9s for Veterans opened its retail outlet store on Friday at the Promenade Bolingbrook. The store will offer products like home decor, clothing, health and beauty items, and pet supplies at discounted prices, according to a release from the Promenade.

All proceeds will then be directed toward funding programs tailored to assist veterans in their transition back to civilian life.

The store will be located on the west side of the shopping center, off of Sandburg Way. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday through Sunday.

“We are happy to welcome this store to The Promenade Bolingbrook,” Steven Yee, general manager of the center, said in a release. “We are honored to help the dedicated military men and women who proudly served our country.”

K9 for Veterans, the nonprofit behind the store, has a mission to connect veterans with post-traumatic stress disorders with trained service dogs. The program works exclusively with dogs from kill shelters.

Founder and CEO Michael Tellerino said this is a life-saving program on many levels.

“This approach truly epitomizes the question of ‘who rescued who’?” Tellerino said in a release. “Dogs embody true unconditional love. The bond that is created between these veterans
and their service dogs is immeasurable. We are saving dogs and veterans with this program.”
