Lawyers in the Library Event a Huge Success

At 9:00 a.m. on Saturday June 30, 2018, a dozen Bolingbrook lawyers gathered at Fountaindale Library in Bolingbrook, Illinois to provide free consultations to members of the public. The event was created by attorney Joe Giamanco of Giamanco Law Partners, and made a reality with the help of countless others.

"Before the doors opened there was a line of people waiting in the heat," Giamanco said. "From the time the doors opened until the event concluded at 2:00 p.m. it was non-stop. The event staff did their best to keep things moving and keep waits to a minimum and the library staff's help was phenomenal. We had attorneys providing consultations in both English and Spanish."

Subjects covered by the attorneys included civil litigation, insurance, family law, personal injury, workman's compensation, social security and disability, wills and trusts, HOA issues, criminal, traffic and DUI, bankruptcy, immigration and employment and labor law.

Ultimately around 100 members of the public participated in the event and attorneys provided around 60 consultations over a range of subjects. "In dollars and cents, the value our volunteer attorneys provided to the community was in excess of $10,000 of free legal advice. The event exceeded all expectations and we have been asked to repeat it; however, due to the complex nature of scheduling so many attorneys to help, it will likely be set for sometime in early 2019," said Giamanco.

Participating attorneys included Kimberly Anderle-Abma, Anita Kontoh Scott, Brian, Keeley, Wayne Kwiat, Steve Prodehl, Joel Brown, Molly Stojanov, Mary Helen Reyna and Jaime Olson. Event coordinators included Phyllis Roman and Melisa Quinones.
