Lukancic Middle School Presents 'Searching for David's Heart'

Theatre goers will experience a variety of emotions from laughter to tears as Lukancic Middle School students perform “Searching for David’s Heart” April 16-18.

Adapted by Cherie Bennett follows the fortunes of Darcy, a middle schooler who has a tough home life where money is tight and her parents argue constantly. Her sole salvation is her older brother, David, who adores her, too.

But when David gets his first girlfriend, he is blinded by love and stops paying attention to Darcy. They have a huge fight and Darcy flees. When David follows her to apologize, he is killed in a terrible accident. Following his wishes, David’s heart is transplanted. Guilt-ridden Darcy comes to believe that if she can find her brother’s heart, she can in some way find her brother. And so the search for David’s heart begins. On an epic quest with her best friend Sam (a junior magician and would-be Harry Houdini), not only does Darcy find David’s heart, she finds her own.

The curtain goes up at 6:30 p.m. April 16-18, at Lukancic Middle School, 725 Normantown Road, Romeoville.

Tickets will be available at the door the nights of the show. Adults are $4, Students $3, and children 6 and under free. Three-night passes will be available on opening night for $10 for adults and $8 for students.
