New Assistant Principal at Bolingbrook HS

A Dean of students at Joliet West High School will join the Bolingbrook High School team as an Assistant Principal for the 2015-16 school year.

Albert Brass Jr., who has 17 years of experience at the high school level, succeeds Teno Geritano who left this district earlier this school year.

Brass has been at Joliet West since 2008, initially serving as a guidance counselor before becoming Dean of Students in 2010. Prior to that he was a guidance counselor and Dean of Students at Hoffman Estates High School for eight years; and guidance counselor at Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Franklin, Wisconsin high schools.

He also is a member of the adjunct faculty at both Joliet Junior College and University of St. Francis.

A graduate of Marian College in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s Degree in administration of justice, Brass holds a Master of Science Degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership at University of St. Francis.

Brass has served as Joliet West Advanced Placement Coordinator for the past five years and he served on the Joliet Township High School District Discipline Committee for several years. He founded the school’s Hispanic Mentoring Program and currently serves in the African American Mentoring Program. He is also sponsor of Multi-Club.
