New Health Center Celebrated At Brooks Middle School

The health center is a partnership between the health department and Valley View School District.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Will County Health Department celebrated its new school-based health center at Brooks Middle School in Bolingbrook on Monday.

The health center is a partnership between the health department and Valley View School District, according to the health department. Services provided will include school physicals and immunizations, sports physicals, sick and preventive care, first aid and emergency services, simple on-site lab testing, COVID testing, flu testing, strep testing and a mobile dental unit.

According to the health department, the health center is sponsored and staffed by the Will County Community Health Center and includes a nurse practitioner and support staff.

The health department told Patch this is the first school-based health center in Will County involving the health department.

Several local officials spoke at Monday's open house, including Will County Executive Director Elizabeth Bilotta, the Will County Community Health Center’s Director of Operations Stacy Baumgartner and the Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino Tarrant.
