Lisa N. Lopez, age 54, of Shorewood, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, passed from this life on Tuesday evening, September 1, 2026.

Lisa was born on February 19, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois, to Darlene Leffler and the late Michael Gillespie.
She was the beloved wife of Jose Lopez, with whom she shared 27 years of marriage; a loving and devoted mother to Marissa, Jose, and Alejandra Lopez; and an incredibly proud grandmother to Isabella and Xyler. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart and became one of the greatest joys of her life.

Lisa is also survived by her loving mother, Darlene Gillespie; her sister, Danielle Griffin; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Gillespie.
Lisa was employed at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Channahon. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many different hobbies and interests, but above all else, Lisa loved her family. As her children grew and her grandchildren came into her life, spending time with them became what mattered most to her. She will be remembered for the love she gave her family, the memories they created together, and the special place she held in the lives of those closest to her.
Lisa’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the memories she created will continue to live on through her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
In accordance with Lisa’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service and gathering to celebrate and honor her life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
