Panhandler Suspect Back In Will County Jail On Bolingbrook Theft

Homer Warren of Joliet was picked up Tuesday on an arrest warrant issued by Bolingbrook Police.

Just days before Christmas, a Joliet man who was down on his luck earlier this year now finds himself back in the Will County jail. On Tuesday afternoon, 42-year-old Homer Warren was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by the Bolingbrook Police Department. Warren is charged with committing theft back on September 12. Just five days prior, on September 7, Warren was released from the county jail after being charged with five counts of being a pedestrian soliciting contributions on a highway.

After Patch published its original article about Warren's panhandling charges, several readers came forward and commented how Homer was a friendly, familiar face, particularly around Joliet's Interstate 80 and Briggs Street.

Jail logs indicate the defendant faces a $15,000 bond. Therefore, he needs to come up $1,500 to bail himself out of jail. All six of his misdemeanor crimes remain on the docket at the Will County Courthouse.
