He Was Looking For Work But Ended Up In Will County's Jail

Jodie Weber, 50, was taken into Will County's custody on Thursday afternoon.

JOLIET, IL - A 50-year-old Will County man apparently down on his luck and now finds himself in the Will County Jail. Jail logs show that Jodie Weber, 16100 block of South Cedar Road, Homer Glen, was booked into the downtown Joliet detention facility on Thursday afternoon. Weber has been charged with one misdemeanor crime of pedestrian soliciting employment along a highway. Court records indicate that Weber committed the offense back on June 19. A month later, on July 20, Weber was a no-show at his hearing inside the Will County Courthouse. He also did not show up for court a second time, on August 31, records indicate.

As a result, Weber's bond was revoked and a warrant for Weber's arrest was issued on Aug. 31. Now that he's in custody, his bond has been set at $2,500, meaning he must come up with $250 cash, or 10 percent, to regain his freedom while his case awaits trial.

As of Friday afternoon, Weber remained in the Will County jail.
