Zayed Socks Plainfield Man With Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Joliet personal injury attorney, Adam Zayed, filed this week's Will County lawsuit.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Legal troubles are mounting for Brian G. Larson, a 36-year-old resident of the Plainfield area, who already faces criminal charges accusing him of killing another motorist because he was drunk behind the wheel. This week, Larson got slapped with a wrongful death lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed by Joliet attorney Adam Zayed of the Zayed Law Offices. The lawsuit at the Will County Courthouse was brought on behalf of Jessica Flores. She is administrator of the Carlos Ortiz Jr. estate.

The lawsuit noted that Flores was a passenger inside a car going south on Interstate 55 in Will County near Bolingbrook on Jan. 20 and "a collision occurred between the motor vehicle operated by Defendant, Larson, and the motor vehicle in which plaintiff Flores was a passenger."

According to Zayed's suit, Larson was negligent in several respects including by "carelessly and negligently (driving) while under the influence of alcohol ... causing permanent injury to plaintiff Flores."

According to Illinois State Police, 31-year-old Carlos Ortiz Jr. of Plainfield was one of the four drivers involved in the crash along I-55 that happened at 1:52 a.m. Ortiz was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital in Bolingbrook where he was pronounced dead at the emergency room.

The lawsuit against Larson states he is responsible for "causing the death of Carlos A. Ortiz Jr." because Larson "carelessly and negligently drove while under the influence of alcohol.
