Postponed Valley View Spelling Bee Set for Thursday
Last week's event was postponed due to a power outage.

Fifteen middle school students will compete for the coveted Valley View School District 365U Spelling Bee championship at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Humphrey Middle School, 777 Falconridge Way in Bolingbrook. Last week’s “bee” was postponed because of a power failure.
The highest finisher from each middle school, regardless of grade level, will also qualify for the March 5 Will County Spelling Bee and will vie for a chance to represent the county at the Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington, DC in the spring.
Sixth graders scheduled to compete for the VVSD title include Japmanjit Singh (Brooks), Zoey Anthony (Martinez), Cristian Melendez (Addams), Joey Jones (Lukancic), and Kyara Chisolm (Humphrey).

Seventh graders scheduled to compete Tuesday are Arta Osmani (Lukancic), Kyleyanna Fitzpatrick (Martinez), Julie Stagg (Addams), Simran Sanghera (Brooks), and Ximena Nevarez (Humphrey).
Eighth graders scheduled to compete at the district bee are Jayla Campbell (Lukancic), Carver Miller (Martinez), Balal Hassan (Addams), Fiza Syed (Brooks), and Kira Espinili (Humphrey).
