Prescription Drug Take Back Day At Bolingbrook Police Department

The police department is an official drop-off site on Saturday.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Police Department will participate in the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.

The police department is an official drop-off site, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., officers will be stationed in the police department lobby to receive residents’ unneeded medications, the department said.

Items accepted for safe disposal include: expired prescriptions, unwanted/unused prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, syrups, ointments, creams, patches and vitamins.

Items not accepted are: syringes and sharps, injectable drugs, intravenous solutions, illicit drugs, oxygen containers, pressurized canisters and medical equipment.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
