Registration Open for Bolingbrook 'Kind Thoughts' 5K

Anti-bullying run set for Sept. 20.

In an effort to bring attention to the bullying crisis schools across the country face, Bolingbrook High School’s PTA will again sponsor a rally and 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, Sept. 20.

With a theme of “Keepin’ It Kind—Kind Thoughts Lead to Kind Words,” the community-wide event will feature a morning loaded with fun for both participants and non-participants starting with a motivational speaker followed by the second annual 5K which will be timed for the first time.

“It doesn’t matter if you run or walk or only make one lap,” said PTA spokesperson Jessica Duda. “What matters is that we, as a community, take a stand against bullying by promoting a culture of kindness.”

Duda urged community members to bring balloons and posters, decorate hats and t-shirts or dress up creatively to show their support.

Registration for the 5K is already underway at the event website https://bhskeepinitkind.eventbrite.com. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, race bib and gift bag.
