The AP Scholars program recognizes students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through the AP courses they have taken and on a variety of nationally-administered AP tests in such areas as English language comprehension, English literature comprehension, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, art history and more.

Eight Romeoville High School students achieved the top score of 5 on several exams including Mileva (biology and two calculus exams), Ruiz (U.S. history and two calculus exams), Zipperich (two calculus exams), Ramos (two calculus exams), Listermann (two calculus exams), Anthony Spiewak (English language comprehension), Zahorick (European history and calculus AB), Bochnak (calculus AB), Ansere (European history), Alvaro Almanza-Gaytan (Spanish language), and Teresa Gomez (Spanish language).

Bolingbrook High School students who achieved a top score of 5 on a test included Alita (U.S. history), Aquino (English language comprehension and U.S. history), Barajas (Spanish language), Cook (calculus BC), Fagust (English language comprehension and U.S. history), Flores (Spanish language), Holmes (U.S. history), Santana (calculus AB), Santos (music theory), Sosa (calculus AB), Becerra (Spanish language), Kayhart (U.S. history), Wagner (English language comprehension), Silva (Spanish language), Adams (U.S. History), Ali (statistics), Karevich (science), Kroczyk (U.S. history), La (calculus AB), Masek (English language comprehension, English literature comprehension and U.S. history), and Moy (English language comprehension and calculus AB).

Over the past five years, the number of VVSD students taking AP exams has increased 52.8 percent, compared to a nationwide increase of 33 percent. In addition, the number of VVSD students scoring 3 or higher on an AP exam increased by 51.2 percent compared to the national average of 32.6 percent.
