Romeoville HS Dean to Become Athletic, Activities Director

Michael Strode will begin new position July 1.

Romeoville High School Dean of Students Michael Strode will become the new RHS Assistant Principal for Athletics and Activities as of July 1, succeeding Jim Boudouris, who is retiring.

Strode, who has served as Assistant Athletic and Activities Director since 2008, has been with Valley View for 15 years, joining the district as a traveling physical education teacher for Bolingbrook elementary schools. He was a physical education teacher at RHS for several years before becoming a Dean in 2003.

Prior to coming to VVSD, he was Assistant to the Senior Associate Athletic Director at Western Illinois University and assistant freshman football coach at Hinsdale South High School.

During his tenure at RHS he has been head coach for both freshman and sophomore football squads, girls freshman soccer head coach, and freshman and junior varsity wrestling coach. He has also served as a clerk for boys and girls track meets, table supervisor and announcer for conference and regional wrestling tournaments, announcer for girls and boys regional basketball tournaments and a supervisor at girls and boys basketball games.

A graduate of Western Illinois with a Bachelor of Science Degree in physical education, Strode holds a Master’s Degree in administration from Lewis University. He is also a veteran, having served as a helicopter and a weapons & tactics crew chief in the United States Marine Corps for four years.
