Rose Ftiness & Wellness: Bulging and Slipped Discs

How a Chiropractor Can Help Bulging and Slipped Discs

(Stasique - Fotolia)

Several years ago I had an episode of what we call a slipped disc. I thought child birth was painful, this was up there with it. I could not move without a spasm stopping me in my tracks. I could not sit or stand without extreme pain. Luckily I know a Chiropractic Physician...and a very good one at that.
I could barely lay on the adjusting table, but he gently manipulated me with blocks, one of the techniques he uses. Called Sacral Occipital Technique or S.O.T. He uses Applied Kinesology as well to pinpoint exactly where the herniation occurred.

The inflammation that goes with a herniated disc is what usually prevents the adjustment to hold for a long period of time. For the inflammation I use ice packs, non aspirin pain reliever over the counter or a supplement they carry called Total FLM).

Once the inflammation is gone then he can do more therapies and manipulations to retrain the muscles around the area.

Home care is important. Movement is important. Gentle stretching at first. I was back to work the next day, gingerly, but I was able to see patients myself.

Now you can have a disc issue without all the pain I had. Just depends on what nerve the disc is touching. Treatment is the same.
