Friendly pets (no livestock!) welcome.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Show off your furry friend at The Promenade Bolingbrook's inaugural pet parade, set for Friday, June 23 at the shopping center near I-355 and Boughton Road. Friendly pets are welcome (but no livestock), and space is limited to the first 500 pets that are registered. Even if you don't have a pet, you can still join in the fun by bringing your "pet-like" stuffed animal to the parade.

An "early bird" fee of $5 per pet is available for the first 200 registered pets; after that, the fee is $7 per pet. No walk-ins. Proceeds from the event benefit the West Suburban Humane Society. Registration ends June 20 and is available online.

The event kicks off with entry number pickup at 5:30 p.m., followed by parade lineup at 6 p.m. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., and a post-parade pet party at 8:30 p.m.
