Taser Subdues Bolingbrook Man Who Kicked Police: Cops

Ricardo Espinoza of Bolingbrook was taken into custody over the weekend.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Bolingbrook Police officers used a taser early Sunday to subdue a 33-year-old Bolingbrook resident after police say Ricardo Espinoza began kicking officers who responded to a domestic violence call in the 400 block of Rockhurst Road. Police arrived around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday after the 911 call from a screaming woman begging for help was disconnected, police say. The defendant was later taken into custody and charged with two counts of domestic battery, two counts of aggravated battery against a police officer, resisting arrest and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

According to Bolingbrook's Police Department, once the squad cars arrived in the neighborhood of the domestic violence, officers learned that the woman was punched in the face. When the woman had tried calling 911 moments earlier, police say, Espinoza yanked the phone out of her hand and hung it up.

"Espinoza then held the victim down and would not allow her to go …" police reports state.
