Teen Arrested In Connection To 2023 Stolen Car Case: Bolingbrook PD

The investigation concluded March 1 when evidence led police to the 17-year-old, who was charged with motor vehicle theft, officials said.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — An investigation into a car that was stolen in October 2023 concluded March 1 with the arrest of a teenager, Bolingbrook police said.

A 17-year-old teen, from Bolingbrook, was taken into custody and charged with motor vehicle theft following a months-long case.

At first, police said they had no witnesses or leads but after a "detailed and diligent" investigation that involved patrol officers, evidence technicians and detectives identified the teen as the suspect, according to a news release.

"Chief Mike Rompa commends the diligent, months-long effort by our investigative team that led to a successful conclusion of this case," police said in a Tuesday news release.
