Tibbott College Week Includes Oct. 3 Pep Rally, Parent University

Next week is College Week at Tibbott Elementary School in Bolingbrook featuring a variety of college and career related dress-up days and several other unique activities.

The week will culminate with a daytime student and staff pep rally and an evening Parent University on Friday, Oct. 3

Designed to create awareness about life after high school, College Week dress-up days include:

•Monday, Sept. 29—No Excuses Spirit Day (wear Tibbott’s No excuses University shirt)

•Tuesday, Sept. 30—Pay It Forward Pajama Day (if you pay a quarter, you get to wear pajamas all day. Money raised will be donated to No Excuses University.)

•Wednesday, Oct. 1—Future career day (wear clothing symbolizing your future career)

•Thursday, Oct. 2—College Sports Day/Throwback Thursday (wear college sports apparel)

•Friday, Oct. 3—College Spirit Day (wear college gear or dress in your favorite college’s colors) which includes a 1:45 p.m. student and staff outdoor pep rally featuring the DePaul University cheer and dance team.

The Oct. 3 Parent University (6-7 p.m.) will include a presentation for parents and fun activities for students. Tours of Tibbott’s famous Mock College Dorm Room will also take place.

At various times during the week, students will tour the Mock College Dorm Room. They will also take virtual tours of colleges throughout the country and watch a slide show focusing on Tibbott staff members’ college days.
