Valley View Administrator Named 2nd VP of Statewide Association

Tammi Conn, director of career and technical education for Valley View School District 365U, has been named 2nd Vice President of the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education (IACTE), VVSD announced.

IACTE is a statewide education association dedicated to supporting the programs and people that prepare youth and adults for successful careers.

Conn, who joined the VVSD team during the 2012-13 school year after serving for 13 years in various capacities at Kaneland High School, was a presenter at the IACTE conference in Peoria earlier this month, discussing “how to unpack” the Common Core State Standards as well the importance of a building good rubric for student learning.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University (Bachelor’s in Workforce Education and Development) and Concordia University (Master’s in Educational Leadership,) she is a member of the DECA Board of Directors for the State of Illinois and a reviewer of certification tests for business, marketing and information systems for the Illinois State Board of Education.
