Valley View Introduces First Electric Bus To District

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Valley View School District has introduced its first electric school bus to its fleet, according to a news release from the District.

The District said the electric bus replaces a diesel bus that had reached the tine to be rotated out of service.

"VVSD will continue to seek opportunities to add cleaner technology in providing services to our students and families when it makes operational and financial sense to do so," the District said.

Right now, diesel buses remain a necessity as there are longer trips that require a mileage range beyond current electric bus technology, according to the District.
