Valley View School District School Board Re-organizes

Valley View School District 365U’s Board of Education re-organized Monday night, swearing in newly elected board members, electing officers and approving the 2015-16 board meeting schedule.

Steve Quigley, who won re-election in April, was also re-elected as Board President. Chrystal Hansen is the new Vice President and Debbie Sykora will serve as Secretary.

New board members Diane Parro and J.T. Boudouris were also sworn in.

Boudouris brings private sector business expertise to the VVSD Board of Education. The owner/operator of his own Farmers Insurance agency in Romeoville, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in economics from the University of Iowa. He is active in the Romeoville community, serving on the village’s Downtown Redevelopment Commission.

A resident of Bolingbrook for nearly three decades, Parro has been deeply involved in the life of Valley View School District 365U as a parent, as a volunteer and as a guest teacher. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, she is a member of the VVSD Safety Committee and Coordinator of the Bolingbrook High School (Friends and Neighbors Supporting Students) program, and is Past President of the Wood View Elementary School PTA and the Bolingbrook High School Music Boosters.

The board approved a meeting schedule that begins July 13. Meetings will also be held on Aug. 10 and 24, Sept. 14 and 28, Oct. 13 and 26, Nov. 16, Dec. 14, Jan. 11 and 25, Feb. 8 and 22, March 14 and 28, April 18, May 9 and 23, and June 13.
