Village Board Gives Green Light to $619,000 Traffic Signal Project

Mayor Roger Claar says he is hopeful the signal will be up and running "before the snow flies."

When WeatherTech expanded its operation in the area of Remington Boulevard and Territorial Drive, the weather forecast for Bolingbrook commuters turned a bit cloudier because of increased traffic in an already congested area.

The Bolingbrook Village Board recently moved to address that issue by giving the go ahead to spend $619,000 on a new traffic signal at the corner of Remington and Territorial, just west of the Bolingbrook Drive exit off of I-55, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Lemont-based K-Five Construction Corp. will handle the job after submitting what Mayor Roger Claar called the lowest of three bids in the Tribune report.

"We've been putting off doing this until the traffic counts met warrants," Claar sated in the report. "This warrants, and hopefully we'll get this up and operating before the snow flies."
