• Bourbonnais hires new police officer (shawlocal.com) — Bourbonnais has added experienced officer Thomas Martin to its police force, bringing the department to 27 sworn officers with plans to reach full staffing of 29 soon. Martin, a Kankakee police veteran and local graduate, was sworn in at Monday’s village board meeting as leaders work to bolster public safety coverage in the village.
