• Kankakee County's fallen firefighters, families honored at memorial (shawlocal.com) — Bourbonnais firefighters played a central role in Kankakee County’s Fallen Firefighter Memorial, where local chiefs helped lead ceremonies honoring eight first responders who died in the line of duty, including Bourbonnais Firefighter Bruce Spaulding. The moving service at the county courthouse featured readings, a wreath-laying, bagpipes, and the bell ceremony, giving families and neighbors a chance to remember how these firefighters lived and served.
