826CHI Presents: Tale-Gate, A Street Fest of Literary Proportions

826CHI presents Tale-Gate: A Street Fest Of Literary Proportions to benefit 826CHI, a nonprofit creative writing and tutoring center for Chicago youth.

This event features the only Clash cover band that matters (London Calling), a bout of Write Club (hosted by the inimitable Overlord Ian Belknap), improv interpretations of our student writing, food from local vendors, and drinks from the Hideout.

Tale-Gate also boasts a team competition element, in which groups fundraise on 826’s behalf ahead of time, and engage in a series of espionage-related challenges day-of—culminating in an onstage production of our Family Feud-style quiz show, Wisdom Storm.

When: Saturday, September 27th, from 1-5:30pm
Where: The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia)
Cost: $10 at the door, 21+
