Toddler Almost Snatched Off Chicago Street in Front of Mom and Nanny
A man in a "trance" grabbed a 2-year-old boy Thursday morning in Bucktown near Walsh Park.

CHICAGO, IL - A man in a “trance” who glaringly stared at a 2-year-old boy and tried to abduct him Thursday morning near Walsh Park has residents on high alert in Bucktown and Wicker Park.
A man described by the victim’s mother as black, 6-feet-tall, weighing about 200 pounds, and in his mid-20s spotted the boy when he was standing with his nanny by their car in front of their home, laying his eyes directly on him.
He approached and attempted to grab the boy.

When confronted by the mother who was walking out to the car, the man "snapped out of whatever trance he was in, put his arms up and said "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," the mother told DNAinfo Chicago. "He spotted my son, his stare went blank and he only looked at him. He walked and stood in front of him, staring at only him.”
