Chicago, It’s Time to Meet us at the BAR!

BODYBAR Pilates Opens New Location in Wicker Park

CHICAGO – BODYBAR Pilates (BODYBAR), known for its use of integrative, athletically-driven workouts that unite the Pilates method and modern exercise training principles, will officially open to the public in Chicago on April 3 at 1474 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60622.

As the first BODYBAR studio in a major city, this new location will introduce the Reformer Pilates studio concept to Wicker Park. Blending its focus on strength, toning and modern movement with a warm, welcoming, spa-like environment, BODYBAR creates a Pilates experience unlike any other. It is all centered on fostering a destination where a community of members can come together daily to maintain sound mind, body and spirit.

“We are thrilled to introduce BODYBAR to the Chicago market,” said Luke Dreiling, co-owner of BODYBAR Wicker Park alongside his business partner, Shannon Handy. “We see joining BODYBAR as a great opportunity to help shape an emerging brand, developing it into something truly amazing. The team has been open, honest and very community-focused, which is rare to truly find in a company. We look forward to starting this venture and being a part of BODYBAR’s journey.”

Prior to joining BODYBAR, Shannon lived abroad and started her career in real estate development in Holland. She later worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 20 years, however she always wanted to work in an industry that aligned more with her values, such as fitness. Luke has also been active his entire life, starting his career in fitness instruction. After working in retail management for a few years while teaching Pilates on the side, he decided to turn his entire career to fitness, becoming a fitness director. About seven years ago, Luke dove into Pilates and started managing a Pilates studio, which is where he met Shannon. Shannon and Luke’s professional backgrounds along with their passion for staying active inspired them to enter the boutique fitness industry and pursue business ownership with BODYBAR.

To celebrate the opening in Chicago, the new studio is hosting several grand opening events throughout its Founder’s Week.
