CHICAGO, IL (MARCH 19, 2014) – Chicago’s Green Exchange, an environmentally sustainable building that is home to over 20 eco-friendly businesses, is proud to host a public blood drive in conjunction with LifeSource. According to LifeSource, less than 3% of the Chicagoland population donates blood. The blood drive will be held on Wednesday, March 19th from 10am-4pm on the second floor of Green Exchange (2545 W. Diversey, Suites 236-238).
The recent winter storms and freezing temperatures in Chicago has resulted in an urgent need for blood. Blood supply levels are dwindling, with local blood banks showing the lowest levels in 10 years. At the end of January, more than 775 donation cancellations were reported. Green Exchange urges anyone and everyone to attend this blood drive and make an impact in other’s lives.
“Many people are in need of blood this season, especially after such a brutal winter,” says Elizabeth Curcuru of Watermark Property Management. “We are happy to host this event for the good of the community.”
