So you think you live in one of Chicago's greatest neighborhoods? Share what you love about it!
Chicago Greeter is made up of 200 volunteers who welcome visitors into their Chicago neighborhoods to explore beyond downtown. The program pairs the out-of-towner with a friendly local for a FUN, casual guided walk… no standard tourist scripts, just one-on-one chats where you point out the local places you enjoy and are proud to share, whether it’s great street art or street food, historic corner pubs, a hidden park, small galleries, etc.

With another busy summer coming around, Chicago Greeter needs volunteers from communities like Wicker Park/Bucktown, Bridgeport, Hyde Park, Logan Square, Pilsen, etc. so we can continue to promote them. Residents with language skills are a plus!

Just as a background, the Greeter service is free, has been around for over 10 years in Chicago, and gets great feedback - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g35805-d285329-Reviews-Chicago_Greeter-Chicago_Illinois.html. It is also one of only 3 such programs in the US, though nearly 70 international destinations are part of the Global Greeter Network - http://www.globalgreeternetwork.info/.
