Family Displaced Following House Fire In Buffalo Grove

The two-story home sustained damages, but no injuries were reported from the Tuesday fire, according to authorities.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A late Tuesday evening fire that displaced a family remains under investigation, according to Buffalo Grove fire officials. A two-story home, located in the 1300 block of Brandywyn Lane, sustained damages. No injuries have been reported.

At around 11:13 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of flames coming from the roof of the single-family home. Fire companies arrived within minutes of the dispatch and found an active fire in the front corner of the roof.

Department personnel quickly extinguished the visible fire from the front of the building and then aggressively entered the structure, exposed the attic space in the affected corner of the residence and extinguished the remaining fire in the interior of the attic, according to a news release.

The fire came just days after another one at multi-family residential condominium building, which displaced five families, according to the Village of Buffalo Grove.

In that fire, one person was taken by ambulance to the hospital for observation, and two firefighters sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene and released.

In total, resources from 18 fire departments were utilized to bring the Sunday fire under complete control.
